One of the most effective organisations in the UK
Irish Ambassador to the UK, Martin Fraser & the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Susan Lousada visited LIF on 6th June.
Joanne Close, Art Club member, presented her painting ‘The Dubliner’ Pub - a nod to the Ambassador’s roots. He loved it so much that he has it displayed in pride of place in his private office.
Susan Lousada got lucky on the raffle, donating biscuits & chocolates to our friends from Community Choices Adult Social Care.
Both guests were piped in by The Emerald Pipe Band and treated to a rendition of ‘Molly Malone’ from the Choir. Ambassador Fraser had time for everyone, chatting to members and invited dignitaries as if they were old friends.
Mary Doyle, who sadly passed away on Tuesday 4th July had stylishly matched her outfit to the tricolour flag in the Ambassador's honour and this was warmly appreciated by him.
He complimented LIF on his warm welcome and effectiveness as an organisation. Thank you to everyone who helped spring clean and paint the fence to make the centre even brighter for this special occasion.
