Digital Skills Support

In this voluntary role you'll be supporting local people aged 50+ to develop digital skills and thereby improve their chances of securing employment.

We're looking for volunteers who can commit to six hours a week over one or two days Monday to Thursday. This is a rewarding volunteer role where you’ll contribute to the personal growth of programme participants and where you can enhance your skills and gain relevant knowledge in a fast-growing sector.

Can you help with any of the following?

Providing classroom support during IT sessions and employability workshops.
Mentoring of participants, particularly focussing on applying for employment.
– Data inputting.
– Assisting with room set up, clearing and cleaning after sessions.

Befriender by Phone - on hold

A chat on the phone can make someone's day. Our phone befrienders stay in regular contact with local people who aren't getting out and about at the moment as much as they'd like. Volunteer as a  befriender and see the difference one phone call can make.

Volunteer Shopper during Coronavirus pandemic – on hold

We had such a great response to this role that we have plenty of helpers for the moment. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do something for your neighbours yourself, see Neighbourly Volunteering video from Age UK and partners.

Fundraiser

Choose something you love doing or something you’ve always wanted to try – and use it to fundraise for us. Whether it’s long distance walking, shaving your head or jumping out of a plane – we can help your idea come to life and assist you in reaching potential sponsors.

Club Assistants - on hold

This role is to assist in organising our regular clubs, to welcome members and encourage participation in club activities. Several of our clubs are now running via Zoom, mainly co-ordinated by volunteers. Club Assistants also stay in contact with members and make reassuring phone calls.
