St Patrick’s 2021 – a different craic
This year, we're celebrating St Patrick's Day a little differently and we've started already with our members posting LIF St Patrick’s Day cards to friends and family worldwide. Booklets packed with stories, puzzles and fun activities for all the family will be posted to LIF members, be available online to download and by request from 8th March.
In preparation for dressing up on the big day, children’s gifts, county caps and rosettes along with other St Patrick novelties are on sale online. See our St Patrick's page or social media for details and prices. All proceeds will go towards future Festival events.
The staff team at LIF starts St Patrick’s week off by taking on the Jerusalema challenge. Join in by dressing up and having a go! Send your videos via email or WhatsApp by 12pm on 11th March to be included in the ‘Luton-Irish St Patrick's Jerusalema Challenge' video, which will be published on social media on St Patrick's Day.
On St Patrick’s Day (17th March), 50 of the charity’s most isolated members are being treated to a Bacon and Cabbage lunch delivered to their home – thanks to O’Shea’s Bar and Grill cooking and LIF staff and volunteers delivering.
Everyone is invited to join the craic at the free Big St Patrick’s Day Quiz by Zoom. Starting from 7:30pm, there will be fun questions, plenty of chat, and a raffle. Make it extra special by dressing in your county colours (or green and gold!) and treating yourself to a Bacon and Cabbage dinner or Irish Snack Box delivered to your door (Luton addresses only). Registration is quick and easy via Eventbrite.
Liz O’Halloran, Chair of St Patrick’s Festival Committee, says “These days we all need to have a good laugh, so find something green to wear and join our Big St Patrick’s Day Quiz. Warm up your laughing muscles by watching the ‘Luton-Irish St Patrick's Jerusalema challenge'!”
