AGM 2023
There’s nothing like a LIF AGM for bringing together so many of the volunteers and supporters who have contributed to another successful year at LIF.
For once the sun was out and everyone was greeted by the familiar sound of pipes and drums from our own Emerald Pipe Band
Cllr Hanif, Mayor of Luton and Rachel Hopkins MP were in attendance, to present certificates to St Patrick’s Parade Group winners Bhangra Smash Up and to our many volunteers. Bhangra Smash Up made a lively appearance before heading off to play the Belfast Mela.
The AGM was a good time to reflect on all the high points from the previous year and understand more about the positive impact of LIF’s welfare advice, intergenerational work, GRT initiatives, popular coach trips and heritage events. Volunteers contributed to a short video explaining what volunteering means to them and this was shown at the meeting.
The financial equivalent of all those amazing volunteer hours is £72,500 per year! We couldn't be LIF without our volunteers!
Clubs are now back in the building after Covid and it’s great to see members socialising and having fun. The Games Club has been a new addition, bringing members together over cards, dominos and soup.
