Phone someone who might be alone

During this time of Covid-19/Coronavirus, we are able to offer telephone befriending only rather than our previous visiting service.

We are extending our telephone befriending project and at the moment we have sufficient volunteers but please keep an eye on this page. We are hoping everyone will make extra effort in order to stay in touch safely with people they know, especially those who are not online and may be most isolated. Your phone call to someone at home on their own may be the only time they speak to anyone all day.

When the time of Covid-19 is over, we plan to recruit more Volunteer Befrienders to visit people, please see the Role Description below for future reference.

In the meantime, stay up to date with news from Luton Irish Forum by joining our mailing list and following our Facebook page.

If you would like to help locally, please contact Luton Borough Council’s volunteering team at volunteering@luton.gov.uk and keep up to date at the Covid-19 Luton Community Action page on Facebook.
