Over the past 18 months, over 50 members of Luton Irish Forum learnt how to cook their favourite Indian meals in authentic and traditional style, while sharing their experience of settling in Luton and forming friendships.
The Love Cooking Recipe Book covers the favourite recipes from the Cooking in Harmony Project. The Project which was funded through a Near Neighbours grant, is based on the Sikh tradition of Langar. Langar is the term used in the Sikh faith for the community kitchen in a Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) where a free meal is served to all the visitors, without distinction of who you are or where you are from. The free meal is always vegetarian and the kitchen is maintained and serviced by community volunteers.
